Skulptur Projekte 2017
Skulptur Projekte Münster 2017
10 June to 1 October 2017
In the summer of 2017, the Skulptur Projekte will be held in Münster for the fifth time. New outdoor projects are created every ten years for this international exhibition. Initiated by Klaus Bußmann and Kasper König in 1977, the Skulptur Projekte have now become a longterm study on art in public areas.
35 international artists are invited to realize a site-specific project at a location of their choice within the city of Münster. The spectrum ranges from sculptural approaches to temporary installations and performances with which art inscribes itself in the structural, historical and societal contexts of the city. At the same time, many of the projects point beyond the specific place and negotiate current social and urban themes. A special focus of the Skulptur Projekte 2017 is the relationship between public and private space in times of increasing digitalization.
