History was written here – and its effects are still felt today. Münster and Osnabrück were the cities where the Peace of Westphalia was negotiated which ended the Thirty Years War in Europe in 1648 and placed international relations on a new footing.
When you come to visit you can trace this piece of world history and at the same time discover two charming cities, each of which keeps the issue of peace alive in its own particular way.
