Münster's always worth a visit - whether you're on holiday or visiting friends.
If you come from a country which has contractually agreed the waiver of visas with Germany, you can enjoy the pleasures of Münster for a period of three months. In the event that you were obliged to show a visa upon entering the country, this document will state how long you may stay (a maximum of 90 days).
However, what should you do if you wish to stay longer because you are enjoying your time in Münster so much, because you arrived later than planned as a result of important business which you had to attend to, or due to illness or unforeseen events? - Then contact us.
If you wish to approach us for a visa extension, you must justify your desire to stay.
In principle, the following applies:
Germany is a member of the "Schengen Agreement”. Tourist visas issued by a member of the Schengen states are usually valid in all member states. You will be able to determine this if you are issued with a category C visa which contains the entry “Schengen states”. For example, this visa allows you to visit our neighbours, the Netherlands, or vice versa. If you have been issued with a Schengen visa from a Dutch representative office, you may use it to visit Germany.
The Schengen states comprise:
Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic and Hungary.
Caution: a visitor / tourist visa does not entitle you to work. In addition, visa-waived stays may also not be used for this purpose.
