In North-Rhine Westphalia, schools that meet certain standards of intercultural cooperation and methodological innovation are entitled to name themselves European schools. The title is awarded by the Ministry for Schools and Education in North-Rhine Westphalia and it is valid for three years. These schools promote a wide range of activities related to Europe.
