Letter of intent

A letter of intent signals your assurance that you are prepared to assume the costs for another person. This includes all living expenses that the other person incurs, including care in case of illness.

This commitment must be taken seriously, as the declaration you make means that you really do have to bear all the costs for the person in question.

A letter of intent can be drawn up for a period not exceeding five years. It can be submitted for a touristic visit but also for a long-term stay for the purpose of studying, for example.
