Schloss Nordkirchen is a must for anyone who loves landscaped gardens. The spacious garden of this Baroque palace is part of the European garden network and is one of the finest gardens in Europe. The park is one of the main reasons why Schloss Nordkirchen is also called the “Versailles of Westphalia”.
The stately palace itself was built in the French Classical style by Gottfried Laurenz Pictorius and Johann Conrad Schlaun between 1703 and 1734. The garden is open to the public all year round. Separate guided tours of the palace and garden provide visitors with insights into the history and special features of the estate.
